Creative, photographer and the editor-in-chief of fashion hub The New Collections, Larry Lomotey is a self-confessed “man about town” who loves to make a statement with every look. Here he chats to us about his perfect summer outfit, the one sneaker style he loves so much that he owns 50 pairs of them and how he’d rock the season’s biggest trend.
I am Larry Lomotey, creative, editor-in-chief and general man about town. I would say my style is a mix of simple and clean and outrageous statements from head to toe, it just all depends on the day.
The New Collections (TNC) is a site dedicated to keeping our readers up-to-date with brand news from their favourite designers, be it new collections or capsule collections. TNC is a hub which covers the depth and breadth of the fashion world. Simple but honest fashion news and updates without an agenda.
As a photographer, I shoot quite a few different things including fashion but I mostly shoot art under a different name.
The creator bit is only related to my social presences on a small level but rather about my day job where I am a senior creative bringing ideas to life across TV and online.
As brand ambassador I only work with brands I like and would be willing to spend my own money on and often do. I just don’t see the point in telling someone about something I don’t truly love. Naturally this all comes to good use when it comes to working with brands on fashion projects.
I have worn New Balance sneakers since I was a kid, and as a grown up the 1500 is the model I gravitated towards and love the most. At this point I think I own about 50 pairs in different colours. They are just my sneaker of choice. More often than not if you bump into me, I will be in a pair of 1500.
It’s just so perfect. It’s all the coordination and comfort of a tracksuit but with the added bonus of keeping you cool due to being in shorts.
When it comes to printed shirts my rule is keep it simple. I often team it with a pair of plain back or blue jeans and I always keep the sneakers or shoes simple too. Let the printed shirt do the work.
I have to say I don’t really follow trends, mostly because I like loud or unusual items so I tend to march to the beat of my own drum but there are quite a few good apps out there to I keep an eye on, Browzzin being one of my newer ones.
