Based in Málaga, a city in the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain, it seems fitting that Miley Beetles hails from the same place that brought the world Picasso. With her flair for the artistic and love of fashion photography, she's using her talents (and education in English philosophy) to turn her passion for fashion into a successful blog. Here she shares what inspires her and why being a successful blogger is more than just posing for an #ootd.
Fashion makes you do things that you normally wouldn’t do such as wait hours in line for a [retail] drop, save for a couple of months just to get a specific item or spend hours at a time looking for items that would give you the look you’ve always wanted. All these things help me to create my blog and show my followers my passion for it.
I love working with cool brands and designer labels to share my love of fashion with my followers. If anyone wants to become a blogger, the first thing you need to know is there's more to it than picking a pretty dress and knowing how to pose for an #ootd post on Instagram. Like any job, if you want to be successful in being a professional full-time blogger, you have to be prepared to work hard.
Firstly, pick the right platform and write whatever you want. Don’t let ideas about conformity limit you. One should speak up and show the world what you have to offer. Don’t be afraid to showcase your originality. Have a voice. One of the best parts of blogging is that you can write as yourself. If you want to keep people engaged and coming back, you should post three or four times per week on your blog. Plan and keep a schedule.
Usually big online stores like Zara and ASOS. Obviously, I find the Browzzin app really useful to find the best outfit inspiration!
It’s always challenging to make sure your content is original and not repetitive. You want to keep your audience engaged as much as possible. That’s why I have chosen a consistent theme throughout my blog to ensure a cohesive brand identity which people will recognise.
Also I’ve always wanted to be able to monetise the content on my blog which I’ve now found an easy solution for with the Browzzin app. Once you upload your content to the platform it’s possible to earn a commission if someone purchases an item from your outfit look.
