A student at the London College of Fashion, German born Laura Hanns lives and breathes all things style. From wearing high heels every day to her failsafe mantra and her biggest source of inspiration, get to know this up and coming blogger.
My name is Laura Hanns, I’m originally from Germany and moved to London when I turned 19. I began studying at the London College of Fashion (LCF) last September. I’m an open-minded person with a lot of energy and a positive mindset.
My personal style is classic, but I also love to wear high fashion. I think I’m the only person who always wears heels, no matter if I have a long day at uni or to go grocery shopping. I love the feeling of expressing myself [through my clothes]. In my wardrobe you can find the colours black and white but also bright colours. I like to play with fabrics and various styles.
A typical day for me is spent thinking about what I want to present next and where I can get my inspiration from. I’m also a student so I spend most of my time at LCF and try to be focused on my chores. It is quite essential for me to find the right balance between uni and my fashion business.
I’m inspired by so many things! That’s the reason why I love my university so much. It gives you so many opportunities to show the world who you are and what you want to express. Every day, I get to learn so many new ideas, which I can use for Instagram as well.
My main source to stay up to date with the latest fashion trends is reading Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, fashion blogs and apps such as Browzzin where I can discover many style ideas from around the world.
What’s the best advice you would give to emerging fashion bloggers to succeed?
The best advice to succeed in this business is to be yourself in every situation! Don’t try to be someone else or to be better than someone. You should never forget why you have started this business. Ignore what other people say, keep doing your thing and be authentic. If you want to be successful in this business, you have to work hard, and you have to focus on the most important aspects in life.
