Combining her love of fashion and being a new mum, Sheila Tiu blogs at Sheiladytiu.com sharing her musings on everything from trends to travel and parenting. Here she chats to us about juggling motherhood with a career and the best thing that’s ever happened to her.
Hi everyone! I’m Sheila Tiu (@sheiladytiu) and I am a blogger from the Philippines. I blog about fashion, lifestyle, and motherhood.
My day starts with my son since he wakes up around 6am and ends with me on my laptop blogging after I put my son to bed.
As cliché as it sounds “look good, feel good.” So I always make it a point to look my best whenever I step out of the house, even if I only had four hours of sleep. Looking good on the outside gives me confidence and good vibes. My son’s smile gives me the fuel to get through my day.
Our recent video on our YouTube channel is about this trend that has been going on on Instagram and YouTube where [people address assumptions about themselves]. In our video we read people’s assumptions about us and we answer if they are true or not. It’s a great video [to watch] to get to know me more.
We actually just started our vlog in October last year. My sister and I share the same passion [for fashion] and we are both mums too. So together we thought it would be fun to do a sisters vlog on YouTube. it is also great bonding time for us since we get together every week to shoot for our vlog.
Before I got into blogging three years ago I was actually a cake artist. I also ran my own online shop called @pinkaholicClothing. I can still do them both if I want to but blogging and being a mum right now is what I enjoy the most.
The best thing that has ever happened to me is probably becoming a mum. It has been the greatest blessing. I have grown so much. And dressing up as a mum has become more fun for me, and even more fun is choosing outfits for my little boy.
Right now, I just want to grow my brand while making my son my top priority. Five years from now I see myself not only managing my own brand/business but managing my little toddler’s social media account as well.
I am currently monetising my fashion content through sponsors, paid collaborations with brands that I choose to work with, and also through Browzzin. I love that through Browzzin, my followers can easily shop my looks while I am able to monetise it as well.
I usually draw my fashion inspiration from celebrities and bloggers all over the world. And that’s why I love Browzzin cause not only do you get to draw inspiration from fashionable users within the community, but you can actually shop the items or find similar items easily. Now that’s just brilliant!
